Overview

Traditionally, physiotherapy leaders have not had significant access to industry-specific information related to buying or selling a Physiotherapy Practice. Add to this, constant changes in the Canadian healthcare marketplace, an aging demographic, the emergence of social media and social capital, the shift to interdisciplinary models, and the consolidation of clinical networks.

It's no wonder that accurately valuating a clinic today can seem like an impossible task!

If you have been thinking about buying, starting, growing, merging, or selling your business and want to maximize its value, this introductory course is for you.

In this online course, we will cover the basics of business value, valuation, and the sale process itself. This session will help you to build the skills, confidence and basic competence owners need in this relevant area. Additional resources for continued learning will be provided.

This session will include an interactive lecture, case studies, and a question-and-answer period.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the principles and processes of clinic valuation and apply these to their current or potential business;
  2. Distinguish market value from strategic value;
  3. Differentiate the most common models of acquisition and the pros/cons of each;
  4. Implement strategies to maximize the value of their business to a potential buyer.
