Overview:

This webinar will explore the anatomy and common injury patterns of low back pain and dysfunction in horses and riders.  The focus will be on the equine spine, fascia and musculature and how these structures work to support ridden work.  Core exercise protocols will be taught for the equine 

 

Speaker: Linda Walker, MPT. BScKin

Linda Walker is the co-owner of the clinic and has a Masters of Physical Therapy from McMaster University.  She has worked in private practise in Greater Victoria for 20+ years.  She has a strong background in Biomechanics, Sports Injury/Performance, and Manual Therapy.  She has worked with Chronic Pain patients for 10+ years and finds this work very rewarding.

She is an associate of Physiotherapy Association of BC, Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, and is a Pain Champion with Pain BC. She has done speaking engagements for PABC, Olympic Athletes, Running Room, YMCA, Panorama Rec Centre, local Physiotherapists, local GP’s, and the Pain Modules for GP's General Practice Support Initiatives. 

She is a Clinical Instructor for the UBC/UVIC Island Medical Program.  She has taught Iyengar Yoga for 10 years to inject Primary Prevention into her community.  Linda is the Online Education Director of the Animal Rehab Division of CPA and does Member Animal Rehab Division of CPA (Equine) to help horse and rider performance.  When not problem solving in the clinic, you can find her road or mountain biking, horse back riding, golfing, hiking with her 2 whippets, meditating, or doing yoga.
