Description:

This course by the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association course shares adverse events from using a Monofilament Needle in physiotherapy practice. Many physiotherapists use some form of needling in their practice, and therefore it's essential to inform all physiotherapists of the potential risks of dry needling, in order to protect our scope of practice.

Please email orthodiv@shaw.ca  and/or pd@physiotherapy.ca with any questions

Objectives:

  1. Identify risks reported in the literature and inform all physiotherapists of the potential risks of dry needling (acupuncture, dry needling, intramuscular stimulation).
